The Rukira Coffee Washing Station receives coffee cherries from 1,940 local smallholders. Based in the Ngoma District close to the border with Tanzania, coffees are characteristics high in acidity with a tea-like body.
This is our first decaf offering. We've enjoyed some lovely decaffeinated coffees from some of our favourite roasters, and we wanted to make sure that our first decaf was on a par, and we think we've managed that.
As a filter coffee there is a hint of tart blackberries, but that gives way to brown sugar and a light black tea.
Espresso unlocks deep fruity flavours together with builder's-strength Assam, with a little hint of spice in the finish. A real contrast with the lightness of the filter coffee.
